On the evening of July 4, 2025, I stopped by 9th Avenue Saloon in New York City — and found exactly the kind of laid-back, welcoming spot that’s perfect for a casual drink, great conversation, and zero pretense. 

🏳️‍🌈 The Vibe 

Throughout the night, the bar held a steady crowd of about 15 patrons at a time — enough for atmosphere, but never too loud. Soft music played in the background, making it easy to talk without shouting (a rare gift in most NYC bars). 

The decor is cozy and well-curated, and the LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere is immediately felt — not just in the signage or symbols, but in the genuinely welcoming vibe from both staff and patrons. 

🍹 What We Ordered 

We sampled plenty from the bar — cosmos, tequilas, and a round of shots — and were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable pricing, especially for Manhattan. Everything was served quickly and with a smile. 

🤝 Friendly Faces Behind the Bar 

We interacted with two bartenders over the course of the evening, and both were fantastic — upbeat, attentive, and easy to talk to. Even with the shift change, the good energy didn’t skip a beat.
